Federico Chingotto, also known as Fede Chingotto or “El Ratón”, is a professional paddle tennis player born on April 13, 1997 in Neuquén, Argentina. The athlete is about 1.70 m tall and is as sneaky as a mouse. He plays the offensive position and has a strong defensive ability.
start
Fede was then a young talent from the Olavaria Spadel Association (APO), who became Argentina’s number one player at the young age of 19 under the tutelage of Jose Amendanos.
Along with their friend and team-mate Juan Tello, they were in the spotlight after reaching the main draw of the Alicante Open in 2016. They were reunited with the best at the 2016 Monte Carlo Open shortly after, but were once again beaten by Paquito Navarro and Sanjo Gutierrez.Although this is their first step towards world padel circuitthey are already the best team in Argentina.
In 2017, they continued to improve and finally reached the semi-finals three times. However, it was in 2018 that Chingotto really shined. He won both tournaments and made a total of four semifinal appearances. In 2020, his winning efficiency has increased to about 70%, showing a huge improvement in a short period of time.
“Ellardon”
He moves so fast that he can get to a comfortable position in front of the net in short order. He organizes the game from the back and develops a strong backhand technique, mainly for near-net shots against the 4-meter-high back wall.
In the backcourt, he mostly hits close-to-net shots or lobs through the middle. He can also cover a larger area because he relies on his partner to push and turn the offense.
In addition, Chingotto usually returns the ball to the center of the pitch, while his partner handles the attacking ball in the middle. He doesn’t overcomplicate the game and stands out for his simplicity and linear style, which usually avoids unnecessary mistakes.
advantage:
- move: The Rats not only cover 60-70% of the pitch in the backfield, but do so with ease. Of course, quick reflexes and movements are necessary, but Chingotto has shown a higher level of positional awareness. Federer has the decision-making ability of an experienced player at such a young age, in fact, he is so comfortable defensively that he is even able to turn a defensive game into an offensive transition game.
- Shooting Variations: Given his defensive speed, his shot selection and shot type are almost automatic. He doesn’t seem to like shooting the ball a certain way, which is one of the many issues opponents have to deal with. He also has excellent rebound control through the wall, as well as excellent counterattack and layup ability.
- Bandja: A proven starter, Chingotto has an excellent jump strip and strong potential spin. He’s done a good job at that and has chosen his time to play in parallel wisely. This leaves minimal room to cover if the layup is a bit short and the drag tries to penetrate.
If he hits the ball far out of the middle, the best option is to spin forward to the right grid in front of him. But if he’s going to the layup, shooting from the middle to the opposite center corner leaves an unnecessary open space in front of him. Fortunately, as mentioned earlier, he has great decision-making skills and the ability to make different shots.
weakness:
Most of the time, driving players don’t need to perform or surprise their opponents with consecutive smashes. But changes in paddle tennis have been quick and sudden. Drive players to play backhand style to maintain pace.Although Chingotto Depending on the skill of his partner, opponents may find it easy to defend him.
One of his weaknesses is his lack of powerful shots over the net to his side, and he usually doesn’t show interest in defending opponents’ shots in front of the net because he doesn’t have a high touch range. In these cases, Chingotto Relies on his partner to defend shots at the net from both sides of the court.
While it works against a traditional duo, only his partner can recover the hard hits when faced with the threat of a double strike. We can say, however, that his strength and lack of vertical range is not an issue.
a mental player
Feder also has another important tactical role. Not only is he responsible for keeping the scoring on the defensive end and creating offensive opportunities for his teammates, but he is also responsible for maintaining a consistent and highly positive mentality. He made more mistakes when his teammates regularly attempted riskier shots.
Chingotto In the game, you need to maintain team spirit and believe in your teammates at all times. From a tactical point of view, the psychological impact is the top priority. Therefore, if “The Rat” is to continue to climb the ranks and test his skills against tougher opponents, he and his partner must remain vigilant and motivated throughout the match.
Argentines Fede Chingotto and Juan Tello have decided to separate for the first time in their careers after they began playing together in 2015. We wish them both the very best for their future and careers.
