Jairo Bautista and Javi Rico overcame the top seeds of the tournament to claim the Spanish Men’s title.
In the final of the Spanish Championship, the tournament’s first pair of Jill and Geoffrey faced the newly formed combination of Jaro Bautista and Javi Rico.
The duo, who made their debut, were determined on the court and quickly took the lead in the standings. Bautista and Rico played at a high level, catching their opponents off guard and securing the first set at 6/3.
Gil and Geoffrey reacted quickly and the Canarian duo opened the second set in spectacular fashion, building a 5/2 lead.
However, just as the champion was about to be decided in the third set, Bautista and Rico staged an astonishing reversal. With an impressive five-game winning streak, they finished 6/3 7/5.
With this victory, Jaro Bautista and Javi Rico become the new Spanish champions, succeeding Javi Garrido and Martin Dinino.
