cricket
- Yellow padel balls must be used.
- According to FIP padel rules, the ball must have a diameter between 6.35 cm and 6.77 cm and a weight between 56.0 and 59.4 grams.
- When the ball is dropped from a height of 2.54m, it must ensure that the bounce height is 135cm to 145cm.
- When playing at altitudes above 500m, other types of balls may be used. They shall be of the same shape and size, but shall have a bounce height greater than 122 cm and less than 135 cm from a height of 2.54 m at sea level.
padel racket
- The length, width and thickness of a cricket bat shall not exceed 45.5 cm, 26 cm and 38 mm.
- The surface of the racket must not exceed 26 cm in width and 30 cm in length. It can be rough or smooth, but must have an infinite number of holes.
- A wrist strap approximately 35 cm long is attached to the handle of the racket and must be worn by all players on the wrist. This is enforced to prevent accidents.
- The maximum length of the handle is 20cm and the maximum thickness is 50mm.
Padel Stadium
- The court is 20m long, 10m wide, the wall is 3m high, the maximum cage height is 4m, and the error is 0.5%.
- The court is divided in half by a net suspended from cables around the uprights on either side. The net length is 10m, the middle height is 88cm, and the side columns are 92cm high.
- The jambs must be at least 9.25m apart.
- The service line is parallel to the net with a distance of 6.95m. The center service line is the area between the service line and the net. It is a vertical line that divides the area in two. Each line should be 5 cm thick and preferably white in color.
- For off-field games, there must be 2 entrances and exits on each side of the field. There must be no obstacles within a range of not less than 2m wide and 4m long on both sides of the field.
- There must be at least 4 lights on each court, 1 in each quadrant. The height of the lamp must be at least 6m.
padel time
- If one or both other players are not on the court 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, the team will be walked (one team wins).
- There is a 5-minute warm-up period at the start of each game.
- A gap of up to 20 seconds is allowed between points. That is, from the end of the last point to the start of the next point.
- The side change time is a maximum of 90 seconds.
- A maximum of 120 seconds is allowed after each set ends before a new set begins.
- Each player has a 3 minute medical timeout and it cannot be transferred to another player. They may only receive medical attention once a game.
padel serve
- Players place their feet behind the serve line. The ball must bounce behind the line, not on or in front of the line.
- The ball cannot be hit higher than waist height.
- Players cannot jump while serving.
- The ball must then land on the opponent’s teeing ground diagonally opposite.
- It cannot hit the fence/cage. If so, it’s out.
- It can’t hit the side glass/wall without bouncing first.
- You get two serves per point.
- If the ball brushes/hits the net and still lands in the net, that player has two serve opportunities. This is called “letting”.
score
- Same as tennis, 15-30-40 innings, split, 40-40 edge (tie). In the WPT (World Padel Tour) they play golden points in a tie, which means whoever wins the next point wins the match.
- 6 games are a set, and the best of 3 sets is a game.
- Tie-breaks (6 games total) will be scored one by one. The first team to reach seven points wins. There must be a 2-point winning edge in the tie-break.
other considerations
- The first serve at the start of the game is determined by a coin toss.
- The side that loses the coin toss gets to choose which side to start with.
- Players must switch sides after the first, third, and after each odd-numbered game of the set.
- In a “tie break”, the players will switch sides (both sides) after every 6 points scored.
