If you haven’t heard of padel, watch some YouTube videos on the World Padel Tour and you’ll be interested in the sport in no time. Described as a cross between tennis and squash, the sport is certainly the talk of the town.
Padel established in Mexico The sport was born in 1969 but is relatively new to South Africa, with the first pitch opening at the Val de Vie Estate in Paarl in late 2019. There are currently 64 venues available for competition in South Africa, out of a total of 189 pitches. However, a number of courts are currently being constructed across South Africa.
