- Really interesting!
One of the most obvious reasons to play padel is that it is so much fun. Give it a try, I bet you won’t be disappointed. This game is for anyone, regardless of ability or age, and we haven’t met anyone who said it wasn’t for them after playing it for the first time.
If someone is looking for something new to do, whether it’s a hobby or a new sport, padel is a great option.
- It is the fastest growing sport in the world
Although new to South Africa, padel is the fastest growing sport in the world and we’re sure South Africa will be as well. With over 20 million players in 30 countries on five continents, the game will only continue to grow around the world, especially in South Africa.
- Chance
One of the best reasons to play padel is the opportunities it offers you. Since the sport is so new, there are many job and business opportunities for padel. Becoming an instructor, opening padel courts/arenas, or even just working or managing arenas are just a few examples of the opportunities that may be available to you.
- great for fitness
Padel sport is not as physically demanding as other sports, which is why it appeals to such a wide range of age groups. However, it still keeps you healthy. You don’t have to run as much as you do with football and tennis due to the small size of the field and the 4-player game, but it’s a good cardio workout due to the intensity of the points and is great for keeping body parts active.
- very social
One of the best reasons to play padel is the social nature of the sport. If you play the sport at your local club, you’ll make new friends and meet new and interesting people. You might even find your life partner or business partner on the court.
The sport is always doubles, so you’re always playing with 3 other people. This means that if you play 10 times with different people, you will meet 30 new people.
Mixed player tournaments are also common. This gives you the opportunity to meet more people, and the post-game environment is very social, with players hanging out, socializing, eating and drinking.
- easy to pick up
One of our favorite things about playing padel is how easy it is to learn. You can be much better or worse than your opponent and still enjoy a really fun game.
Why?
The courts are smaller than tennis courts, so it’s easier to walk around. It also moves slower than other racquets, and because of the side and back walls, it gives players a second chance to return the ball.
That’s not to say the sport is easy and you just sail all the way to world number one, but it definitely offers something for everyone.
- life skill
Padel can help children or young people improve their life skills.
It does develop the following skills:
- teamwork
- physical
- Social
- maturity
- sportsmanship
- communicate
- discipline
The list could go on and on!
We hope you enjoy our reasons for playing padel. If you haven’t tried the game yet, gather 3 friends and enjoy a game on the course closest to you, we promise you won’t be disappointed.
